Healthy Youth & Families Committee

Chairperson: Tim Noerrlinger
Recorder: Brooke Chaney
Goal: Promoting healthy families by reducing high risk behaviors and increasing assets.

Implementing

  • Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program and Through the Eyes of the Child Team to assure children involved in abuse/neglect cases are placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.
  • CARE electronic monitoring program to prevent detention of juvenile offenders.

Expanding

  • After school clubs with safe, fun, supervised activities for youth in Otoe County.
  • Otoe County Juvenile Diversion Program for 1st time offenders, 17 and under.
  • PACT activities to reduce substance abuse in Otoe County.

Planning

  • Primary Violence Prevention strategies
  • Alternatives to truancy and juvenile detention

Sustaining

  • Study Buddies Tutoring Program
  • Growing Great Kids of Southeast Nebraska

Economic Self-Sufficiency Committee

Chairperson: Tracy Wieckhorst
Recorder: Rena Pugh
Goal: Promoting economic self-sufficiency by reducing poverty and increasing prosperity of individuals, families, & businesses.

ServicePoint™ (web-based software to access, refer, and track clients)
Reduce or prevent citizens from living below the poverty level.

Resource Development Committee

Goal: Strengthening inclusive community collaboration among individuals, organizations and government.

Leadership Team
Increase capacity of youth and adult leadership in Otoe County.
Promote existing leadership programs.
Coordinate SAIL Conference for Otoe County 7th Graders.

Marketing Team
Develop and execute P4OC marketing & communications plan.
Provide orientation, training and development for members.
Publish/update Community Resource Directory.

Cultural Diversity Team
Recruit members to make coalition representative of entire Otoe County Community.
Coordinate training in cultural competency and serving persons with limited English proficiency.

Sustainability Team
Develop the human and financial resources to sustain the programs and activities initiated through P4OC.
