Become a Volunteer
Whether you’re a student or an adult, we have a volunteer opportunity for you. Here’s how you can make a difference just by volunteering one hour per week:
- Become a Study Buddies Tutor, assisting a child in 1st through 5th grade with reading or math. (High School youth and adult volunteers needed)
- If you’re a young person, join a community service project through the Youth As Resources Program. (Open to all Middle School and High School students)
- Be a club leader or assistant at an After School Club sharing one of your skills, hobbies or interests with Middle School students.
- Pledge to be a Safe Home and take action by joining other area families like you who pledge to keep their homes a supervised, drug, alcohol and violence free environment when youth are present.
- Advocate for abused and neglected children involved with cases through the Otoe County CASA program.
- Make your voice heard by contacting elected officials at the local, state and national levels regarding public policy that impacts children and families.
- Partners for Otoe County is recruiting committee members, willing to contribute input and advice toward primary prevention of violence and substance abuse strategies. Active subcommittees are often looking for additional volunteers. People who are interested in helping with a one-time event such as the SAIL Youth Leadership Conference, can contact the program coordinator to learn about volunteer openings.
- There are numerous volunteer opportunities all year long for youth and adults to participate in one time events. Check out our News and Events Page for information about current activities, or complete the Volunteer Application below so that we can match you with an opportunity that fits with your interests and schedule.
Details about specific volunteer openings can be found on our programs page. For more information about volunteering, call us at 402-873-6343, or complete the P4OC Volunteer Application attached below.
